Space

Space is wide open skies, rolling hills and valleys.  Space means silence, hearing your own breathing and thoughts as you stand and survey the world.

Peacock Party

oil on stretched canvas (50x70cms)

The Peacock Garden at Warwick Castle (UK) has topiary peacocks and real peacocks too.  The real peacocks weren't in the mood for posing when I visited the castle so I painted my version of a 'meeting' between a real peacock and it's bushy friend.  I don't know what they would be saying to each other, what do you think?

Secret

Your secret is locked away but how long can you keep it there?

Daisy, Daisy

A little oil painting (approx 20x15cms) that I did as a present for a little girl.  Here's the end product framed in a colour that is cheerful enough for a child's bedroom and grown up enough for her to keep should she wish to!

At the same time I had another piece of work framed but in this case for a  baby boy.

This one is in coloured pencil and you can read about it here

Red Geranium

A  watercolour sketch of a red geranium from my garden.  These geraniums fill Italian balconies and terraces, they look after themselves and survive the hot summer...just what you need!

Hurry!

This is actually one long painting but it wouldn't fit in my scanner and my camera is broken!  I've been playing around with this  idea  of  people walking with their shadows and it fitted nicely with this weeks prompt on Illustration Friday - Hurry
The girl's shadow above looks as if it really is in a hurry and can't wait for her to get a move on!

I broke my camera hurrying down a steep hill, I slipped and hurt my knee (9 stitches!) but I was far more upset about smashing the screen on my camera.  It's gone to the camera doctors to be mended so all is not lost.
