A Place in the Sun

watercolour and coloured pencil in my Moleskine watercolour sketchbook

We've had a little bit of sun here and there and temperatures are slowly rising.  A favourite spot for the cats in the  morning is the big wooden table on the front of the house.  It's a place to sit and get warm and perhaps have a wash too.
Here my cat reminds me a bit of a sphinx in the way he's sitting, what do you think?

I'm making the most of the little sun we have as I will be off to snowy UK tomorrow, the gloves and scarves have had to packed....brrrrr
I'm not sure how often I will be able to get on line so here's wishing you all a happy Easter!

That is one happy contented cat, you can hear it purring! Pack your thermal underwear, the wind is so very cold! Have a Happy Easter over here.

Great painting of the Sphinx...!
Your right about snowy England at the moment. Although it was sunny earlier then when I had to go for a scan it started snowing.

Gorgeous picture of your cat - I can feel the warmth. Hope you find it not too awfully cold here in the UK - this afternoon on the school run I found myself pondering the fact that it was so much warmer and milder - it had got all the way up to 5 degrees celsius!
Safe trip and travel and look forward to your pictures on your return.

Happy Easter to you Cathy.

I'm not looking forward to returning to UK winter temperatures next weekend. I'm really not a 'cold weather' person.

Beautiful ! I can FEEL him soaking up the warmth. and yes, he does look like a sphinx. I think that it is the head held high and the outstretched front legs

Great job on this painted cat.

Did you paint him "in situ," or did you photograph him? I can't get mine to sit still long enough to capture them!

Great painting.

Thanks for the comments, Melissa I sketched the outline from behind the window so that I didn't disturb him, then I took a photo for the colours also from inside and between the shutters so it was a little blurred but ok as a reference. If I stare (while sketching) for a long time a lot of information remains in the memory long enough too.
